This Policy explains what information GDG KAU collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the community platform.
1. Information we collect
Account details from our sign-in provider (name, email, profile photo). Profile information you add (bio, education, experience, skills, links, city). Activity registrations and the answers you submit. Support tickets, messages, and files you send. Basic preferences such as theme and language.
2. How we use your information
To operate your account and public profile, process activity registrations, deliver certificates and badges, respond to your support requests, send you relevant emails and notifications, and keep the platform safe.
3. Emails and notifications
We only email you about things that concern you directly: registration updates, badges and certificates, replies to your support tickets, and activities you are taking part in. We do not run a mailing list and we never email announcements to everyone. New activities and articles appear in your in-app notifications, which you can turn off from your profile.
4. Who can see your information
Authorized club staff can view information needed to run activities, review registrations, and answer support tickets. Content you mark public appears on your public profile. We never sell your data.
5. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the platform: an authentication provider, a database and file-storage backend, and an email delivery service. They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies for sign-in and store your theme and language choices in your browser. We do not use advertising trackers.
7. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to run the community. When you delete your account, we remove your personal records; some information may remain in backups for a limited time.
8. Your rights
You can view and edit your profile, control what is public, turn club announcements on or off, and delete your account at any time from your profile settings. For other requests, contact us.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no online service can be perfectly secure. Please avoid sharing sensitive information you don't need to.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the platform evolves. We'll update the date above when we do.
